Whenever I try to join LL, my gmod freezes up on downloading spawnlists/letters and nothing happens.
I've tried -autoconfig, -dxlevel 90, and factory reseting GMOD. Any other ideas?
I believe model quality may be causing crashes, try making sure you got it set to "High"
EDIT: Also it is highly advised that the game is launched only once when using the parameter test "-dxlevel"

Tried to disable downloading all files from the sever when connecting, which simply results in gmod freezing up on 'Retrieving Server Info'.
Closed and Archived.
Issue should be resolved. PM myself for a re-open if this is not correct.

Thread moved and re-opened as per request of OP - the patch didn't fix the issue.
It's now getting stuck and freezing on downloading models/weapons/w_wrench/w_wrench.xbox.vbr
Let's not rule out this being a client issue. I take it there isn't a chance to open console.
Add this as a launch option: -condebug , try to join the server. Close the game after the game has gotten to the point where it gets stuck or wait it out until you can close the game without having to use task manager.
This should create a console log file in your 2nd garrysmod folder which could contain valuable information about an issue preventing you from joining. Although I don't know if this works when you can't close the game normally.
When ever i try join server now It starts downloading fonts ect and then times out
30mins ago i joined and downloading fonts again but now it just times out.
