I've realised that the [L²:RP] actually looks a lot uglier than the [L²] tags, but the [L²] tag is reserved for Admin's only? Uh, how does adding the prefix 'RP' define 'user' and having no prefix define 'admin'. Moderator makes a lot of sense with [L²:M] but the colon is still pretty ugly. Can't we all just have [L²] since it (a), looks a lot nicer, and (b), takes up less space in your name, considering you're only taking out the letters 'RP' which stands for 'roleplay'. Not trying to change how things are done, I'm just trying to make sense of it all.
its to identify admins easier for new players. for the sake of aesthetics i dont think its needed.

I mean, that's the part I'm struggling to comprehend, having an 'M' prefix is understood easily, someone can identify that person as 'moderator'. If an admin had 'A' after their name, that could be identified as 'administrator', but how does just having [L²] make it easily visible that a player is an Administrator?
'RP' could mean Roleplayer

But does it? And does that mean the Moderators and Administrators alike are not roleplayers? I'm only bringing these points up because it makes no sense that 'M' means moderator but no prefix can somehow mean 'Admin', and 'RP' means player.
I dont really see a point in changing it. Just cause it annoys you shouldn't mean we change it for the whole server. Remember it is optional to put the tag in your name.
I get your points.
I think it's tradition, really. On most servers you'll see it like that.
I believe the reason is that 'X:RP' or 'X:TTT' or 'X:PH' or whatever shows you're a member of the community X. actively involved in whatever the community specialises in.
It draws in people's attention, too. When you see a new tag in your friend's name, do you ever click their profile and check their groups to see what this tag means? Hopefully I'm not the only one, lmao.
I think admins just have the 'L2' in their tag because they represent the community as a whole entity; that's my take on it, anyways.
It will be interesting to see what happens if L2 chooses to expand out of role-play, into other game modes.
More importantly, the admin tag is required for some of our in-game systems to work correctly or at least to my knowledge it is. Both tags look fine in my opinion and show a simple progression in rank that also allows for the simple identification of staff.

I think you misinterpreted what I said. I'm not really asking the 'whole server' to change their tags, I just want clarification on why we can't wear the [L²] tags since they look a lot nicer. I quite enjoy wearings the tags but it'd be nice to take the ':RP' off the end and just have L².

Makes sense tbf, I think
has the right idea with ' | LimeLightGaming.net ' at the end of his name but it's a little too long for most. If you're gonna wear a tag that doesn't explicitly say that you're from LimeLightGaming.net then imo, the L2 and L2:RP tags mean the same thing, one just means you're an admin somehow. thanks for clearing most of it up though
I believe that it helps new players as [**:**] and [**] are quite common and universal when it comes to Garry's Mod servers.

You're not allowed to wear them because the name itself currently is reserved for administrators and so on, if you wear it then it can be considered impersonating an admin since as said above it's not just for appearance.
If you think L2 is bad enough look at Fumuku, you have to have another fucking one right behind it . [L2:RP][F.I] jarz

A tag you'll never have, but that's none of my business.
(Humor aside, really just an optional extra.)
