Efest in EvoCity
Sunday evening kicked off with a big and imposing event located at the Grassy Fields. It was impossible to miss and it was great to explain to those not from around here about the history of our great city. The idea of a LimeLight Efest was formulating for several months but timing was crucial. The unique event was arranged by staff and volunteers in order to celebrate the 1st anniversary of LimeLight this year.
Quite some time ago, an entertainment permit was accepted and construction became on the massive concert venue which succeeded despite protest from neighbouring communities. However, residents that were living near the Grassy Fields had issues with the noise, parking and huge traffic congestion from the Efest.
Emergency services worked tirelessly to prepare for the event although costs were minimal. "We already had a lot of the equipment," said Cmdr. Winston Smith (), a FDEC official, "and for the ambulance team, that service is being provided by St John's Ambulance for free."
An ECPD officer who wished to remain anonymous had complained that the private security force were carrying "extremely threating weapons" and that "even after speaking to personell they refused to disarm themselves."
Citizens across EvoCity, and even visitors from Rockford, partook in the event and the celebration was simply sublime with a well renowned virtuoso () as our disc jockey.
