Shootout at Mainstreet Clothing Shop

A gunman was critically injured on Saturday morning after he began shooting at a clothing shop on EvoCity Mainstreet. He forced Mainstreet into lockdown as SWAT officers secured the surrounding area and LEOs visited local shops to obtain witness statements and to check for any civilian casualties.

The suspect in the shooting fired upon responding EvoCity Police Department officers but was quickly met with retaliation from a local SWAT team. Paramedics arrived promptly to the scene and transported the suspect to the EvoCity Hospital. He remains under police custody but his identity is currently unknown.

"There were a few minor police injuries," said Officer Maebara of the EvoCity Police Department, "although the suspect was the only one in a critical state." Two officers were among the casualties, one was shot in the chest but was saved by the kevlar vest he was wearing; the other officer was shot in the arm but is presumed to make a quick recover. A bystander sustained an injury due to stray bullets, however, it is unknown whether it was due to the police or the suspect.

Officer Maebara informed the local press that the suspect was armed with at least one weapon but his intentions were unclear. He is facing several counts of attempted aggravated murder.

EvoCity fire department officials reported that a fire broke out at the city's BP station which is opposite of the Mainstreet clothing shop. It may have been a result of the suspect firing upon several petrol pumps.
