There'll be more to come from Spai in the near future, but this thread is just to credit and thank him for the two contributions of his that have recently been pushed to our servers, and also to explain their function.

Don't forget to give him a forum +REP!

Render override tool
This went live a few days ago and its function is simple: select the tool in the Q menu, and you can enable/disable shaders on props were necessary.

Radial Context Menu
This one is more interesting. Rather than having to remember and type every single command, you can now access many of them by holding down the context menu button (C by default) and right clicking anywhere on the screen. Furthermore, you can customize this menu using the 'Radial Menu' dropdown on the hints bar on the context menu, or by using 'Radial_Config' in your console. Please note that the default commands will reset whenever you join. If you'd like any changes or additions to the default radial commands, please let us know here or in the suggestions forum.

Noice, noice.
Thank you very much for your contribution, Spy!
Is there a chance we will be given the chance to change which letter we using for the Radial Context Menu, C is difficult to use with weapons out.
It's a nice idea, but it is really aesthetically unpleasing. I just don't think you can make a nice looking radial menu.

I've suggested moving everything to the Context Menu before multiple times because it just makes sense. However, it should be mouse-based and instead activated by right clicking on certain things.

Here's some old pictures I made a year or two ago showing just an example or two. All that would need to be done would to create the framework so that you can only see certain options based on team group. For example, law enforcement would be able to see options such as Warrant, Restrain and Check ID. I always thought we would move away from having visible names and instead have a system where a player can have an ID that simply shows a picture of their character model as well as information that they filled out, such as date of birth, race, gender, name. Each person would have a unique drivers license alphanumeric identifier as they do in real life and this could not be changed and would simply be a way for law enforcement ot issue a warrant. You can see my idea of this by clicking here.

Anyways, it's a nice idea but it is poorly made on a graphic standard. Need to spend more time making these things look good or else the game-mode will start to look like it was purchased off script-fodder

Firstly not sure what you mean by it should be mouse based, as thats kind of how it works.. You right click and the menu appears. Its actually much more fluid than it appears in pictures Id suggest you actually try it before you tell me how it should be changed from a usage standpoint.

Design wise I did initially start with the context menu

and it implements the same way as the current one only displays it differently. Though when I presented it to the staff they all seemed to prefer the radial format.

Law enforcement options are there also, and if its a problem they can easily be changed to only show when you're part of the government if thats a big issue.

Personally I prefer the use of the radial menu than the context menu like you suggested, navigating the radial menu feels much quicker and faster than using a normal context menu.

Design wise like you said there isnt really much you can do, but looking like its purchased from scriptfodder.. In the nicest way possible if you think this kind of thing would be put on scriptfodder some of the design on there is considerably better than anything implemented across the gamemode, and I wouldnt personally sell this its design is nothing like what is normally sold there.

Also thanks for all the positive feedback, should have more coming soon Smile
Amazing!
Great contribution. A simple but effective layout. Kudos from me.
Great updates and keep up the great work Spai!
