The local prefecture has urged people in the area to remain indoors, calling the incident "an attack".
Nice Mayor Christian Estrosi said that "a lorry driver appears to have killed dozens of people".
Sebastien Humbert, the prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes region, told France's BFM TV that the lorry driver had been shot dead.
French media later quoted Nice prosecutors as saying that about 60 people were dead.

tomorrow when all the Europeans wake up
OT:
RIP 72+ people
18 months, 1 attack every other month just in France. This is what happens when spineless puppet politicians, puppeteered by you-know-who, promote multiculturalism and open borders. I hope that the DGSI is right, that this attack will trigger a civil war. This is not the last attack, I feel sorry for the frenchmen who have to put up with this. Hopefully they see this as a call to arms. If the politicians can't fix their fuck up then the people will have to do it.
Even though it is not confirmed yet we all know what lies behind this attack, "the religion of peace".
I honestly go to sleep wondering if I will wake up to another terror attack.
Saw this on BBC news as it was breaking last night before I went to bed. Terrible thing I thought it was a freak accident, Jesus fuck...

YES. We have to stop making this shit a routine by putting up hashtags and hoping it won't happen next time, because all that does is normalize terror, grief and suffering, and turn blatant abuse into a casual thing for france.
People have to realize that terror can't be fought with love and tolerance.
Atleast 84 dead, the world is scary.
It's happening so often now, just keep the flag for the rest of the year...
Sure its terrible but 1000s of innocent people die everyday in Iraq and Syria and no one cares about them, and when something happens in France suddenly everyone starts carrying.

Of course, because it's a lot closer to home and more relatable to Europeans. There's been shit going on in the Middle-East for years continuously and we as population have become more or less immune to their bullshit.

Syria, Iraq.. they're practically war zones. Afghanistan, it has been under al qaeda terror since 1996.
When things like this happen, is a western country of course people are going to care. where as of course people care about whats going on in Syria, that's why most of the western country's have spent millions to send aid, fight isis and try and regain territory. Hell we've even accepted Hundreds of thousands of refugees.
But when a truck rams through a crowd of unsuspecting families, Celebrating a holiday, it's pretty fucked up.

Iraq and Syria are warzones. We are constantly aware of the shit happenning there, and there is plenty of exposure in social media regarding those countries.
When this shit happens in france, it's more surprising because it's a relatively peaceful city, in a country which is not at war (yet).
The difference is basically war vs. terrorism, and that's why people seem to be more interested in France.
Sure its warzones but still, when a bomb is dropped in Syria or Iraq i dont see anyone with the tag #PrayForSyria, no no its #PrayForParis or #PrayForNice, even tho its a warzone its more terrible than what has been happening in France.
