Hi guys!

It's time for another Community discussion, this time on Aggressive RP.

We'd like to hear from you your thoughts on it in general: what's good? What can be improved? Are guns too OP? Whatever.
We've also made a Google Form which can be easily filled in in under 5 minutes - you can use the questions on it as a catalyst for discussion. It's likely that, once we've received a good number of responses, I'll release the results as graphs and charts so you can see how everybody else feels.

Filled in. Notes:
Weapons should be harder to obtain
Nerf the shotgun, 8/10 players are using it since it's too OP

It's sad that passive RPs are being few and far between.
I think personally there's both push and pull [to do aggressive RP instead] factors:

Push
-Repetitive
You can only do a restaurant RP so many times
-Empty
If people don't interact, then you're just sitting in a shop for 3 hours
-Dull
Passive RP heavily relies on RP commands, which usually need 2+ people to make it fun... else you're doing nothing
-No gain
Staff aren't online to hand out points

Pull
-Passive RP is targeted
A shop or 'normal' citizen is an ideal for a hostage situation, robbery or molotov'ing
-Active gameplay
Most aggressive RP requires the player to be actively lockpicking/shooting/driving
-Stigma/Pressure
When with friends it's more tempting to show off your pr0noscope skills rather than be 'boring' and making a supermarket
-Money
Contraband, meth, 'criminal lumberjacks', hostages. EZ monies.

So... who's got ideas as to how to combat these problems?
You cant make enough money from PasssiveRP compared to AgressiveRP, at one point you could make around $300,000 every 1hr 30 just from Meth. PassiveRP often enough you are just loosing money due to adverts. Woodcutting is a good update but that isn't passiveRP to be honest, it's how long can you cut wood before you are bored shitless. We need to focus on updates such as Joey Sky said when LimeLight started such as Farming.
Done.
Most people have their minds set on obtaining a better financial standing; generally people are out cutting wood 98% of the time, sometimes using the Doctor slot (which is ridiculous, good luck finding a medical doctor who needs to moonlight as a lumberjack for the extra capital.) When the recipe is worthwhile, we're all cooking methamphetamine for the relatively simple process and immediate monetary gain. On top of all this, operating contraband and sitting inside your walled off house with blocked off windows  (which are usually fit for Crack dens or condemned buildings) and pointing a shotgun at the door (weapon is OP, buckshot can't penetrate standard body armor.) This all translates into police officers being held at gun point by battle rifles and combat shotguns for minor traffic violations, and massive firefights every half hour with the police being gunned down and groups setting up massive fuck-off castles where they persecute and scrutinize everyone they see, on top of a relatively empty map as they're all corralled into one area. More unique passive roleplays might be the key to reducing the amount of people resorting to firearms and crime on the server, making it dreadful for anyone else to try and RP anything solid and passive without being mugged, kidnapped or shot; I think farming is a step in the right direction.

This. You've added more detail into what I said.
Their is no point at the moment doing PassiveRP at all due to lack of profit etc.
So, if we added a couple Passive Systems, such as:
-Farming
-Cooking
-In-depth Mechanic system
-Banking/Money
-Clothing & Customisability system
-Utilisable vehicles (Tow trucks, tractors, bicycles, etc.)

This would help Passive RP, based on what y'all are saying?
Good... because at least 3 of those are at some stage of development already (though don't expect it in the near future - good updates take time!) . Wink
Any other systems you guys can think of?

Perhaps REP can also come with monetary rewards, say $15,000?

And props.
At the end of the day an RP needs a dupe, and recycled props become tedious. Adding more roleplay props (such as accessories, technology, books, paper) or adding tools which can customise an existing prop will open up a huge range of roleplays, meaning it's not just the prop-savvy (looking at you, Obay and Beflok) who can make any RP they want.

The key to all of this is immersion, isn't it. We need a way to make passive RP more, well... fun.
Things shouldt be as easy to get as they are right now. Like mechanics instantly modifying your car. Chef instantly making food etc.
Inb4 gun control

A cash reward would be nifty with receiving REP, many people already want them, and it adds benefits for those who already have a number of REP and encourages them to continue making roleplays for a reward.

The cash reward would be that helpful, since a good RP and for an admin to hand out a rep is around 1 hour or more, while cutting wood for 1 hour results in 100k.

See I think you guys do clothing ingame all wrong. There should be a clothing store that someone can RP in. You guys keep the fancy clothes for donators, but skin changes should all be done via a store that someone can run.
